Adorable Peter Rabbit First Birthday Garden Party

Bunny tails & garden decor — here’s another dose of pretty party inspiration that also happens to be very timely for Easter celebrations this weekend, but with a fun twist… For her daughter’s first birthday, Veronica Spencer was inspired by her own childhood favorite bunny to create this ADORABLE Peter Rabbit First Birthday Garden Party! I am absolutely loving all the hanging decor, like the garden vine decorated antler chandelier, as well as the stunning Peter Rabbit cake (featuring hand written messages from the book). Keep reading, because all of the adorable details are just a HOP, skip and a jump away!

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

– Carrot, cabbage & first birthday cookies + fondant cabbage & carrot topped cupcakes
– Moss, toadstool and Peter rabbit silhouette filled terrariums + a Peter Rabbit pop-up story guestbook
– Mr. McGregor’s forbidden garden patch filled with garden planted veggie crudités & dips

Pool Party Playdate with Huggies Little Swimmers

I’m excited to share a different sort of post with you today – one that I hope will inspire you to start planning your own day of fun in the sun! I was recently asked to help style a Pool Party Playdate sponsored by Huggies® Little Swimmers, and with the weather heating up and summer right around the corner (how is it mid-April already?!), I was definitely game for putting my head into pool party mode. I’ve also been slightly obsessed with any excuse to design in watercolor lately, and a swimming theme fit the bill perfectly. ;)

Pool Party Playdate with Huggies Little Swimmers

There were so many cool & unique things about this event – the key highlights being the guests of honor (bloggers/moms from all over the country & their families), the incredible venue (a poolhouse right on the beach – talk about instant WOW factor), and the activities, which included a playful group swim lesson and some insanely cool underwater (& above water) photography by Pinky Blue Photography.

Seriously… how cool is the water shot above?! As a fellow blogger with a little one still in diapers myself, I was a bit bummed to miss out on the pool time fun, but we realized that it would’ve been next to impossible for me to decorate the party with a 2 year old in tow, especially given that the event was out of town, so I settled for the next best thing once the party was done up right and in full swing – relaxing and enjoyed the amazing view! That pretty much NEVER happens these days, so it wasn’t exactly a hard sell either. ;)

Since my personal focus for this event was the decor, this recap is more visually focused and a little different than those of the other guests in attendance. Scroll down for a peek at some of my favorite details from the event though (including super cute themed food like Shark’s Mouth Salad & Crabby Croissants!), and then next month I’m actually going to post a similar pool party theme styled in my own backyard, but with more of a “how to” focus that digs into the DIY details and party elements a bit deeper. There’s still a lot of inspiration to soak in here though (pun intended) – and I’m happy to answer any questions you might have in the meantime on the decor via the comments section below! Here we go…
