Modern Minimalist Geometric Baby Shower {Pink & Teal}

triangle confetti invitation and triangle decor for a baby shower

Oh. My. Goodness! Geometric garlands, awesome photo wall, bunnies wearing gold-fringed party hats… I’m like a kid in a candy store when it comes to this insanely cute Modern Minimalist Geometric Baby Shower that Jenny Keller (the incredible talent behind Jenny Cookies) recently created for her sister.

Pops of gold glitter, triangle motifs & sweet personal touches made for a stylish, festive atmosphere (inspired by baby Emma’s new nursery!) where party guests could nibble on homemade cookies and other adorable treats while working on the cutest baby block craft.

I’m also loving how Jenny incorporated pieces from Oh Joy’s new fall collection into this design — Joy’s geometric patterns and trendy colors are such a fun way to style up any celebration. Speaking of which… this look could easily translate to a bridal shower or milestone birthday too!

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

  • Pink marquee ‘EMMA’ sign with LED lights + “I’m so fancy” & “#emmacat” onesie cookies
  • Rice krispie ‘baby blocks’ & cookie sandwiches dipped in chocolate + triangle topped cupcakes
  • Gold bar cart with festive drink pitchers, gold rimmed glasses & 3D geometric garlands
  • Frame wall with loving sentiments, cute prints & patterned paper + custom pillows
  • A pink ruffle & geometric triangle cake + golden arrow, triangle & cat cookies

3 Healthier Halloween Treat Ideas {Cute & Easy!}

healthy halloween treat recipes

Everyone knows one of the best parts of Halloween is the candy, but there are a few obvious downsides of letting our kids (and ourselves – let’s be honest!) chow down on a bit too much sugar. On that note, I’m excited that Shana Rosenheck from POMP Party offered to share a few quick & easy recipes that will add some healthier alternatives to an upcoming Halloween party – or to any festive snack time or lunch, really. So… resist the urge to set out that umpteenth bowl of candy or cookies, and round out your party table with a batch of these Healthier Halloween Treats instead! ;)

PLUS, be sure to also check out the entire Halloween Party Shana created, which included these treats and more. We’re featuring the full party here today too, and there’s tons of great stuff to share… including a fabulous little crafty activity for the kids. Thanks, Shana!

DIY Tutorial: Colorful Royal Party Crowns

DIY royal birthday crown tutorial

A while back, I shared a Toy-Inspired Royal 1st Birthday Party with you that we created earlier this summer. We also posted a few fun extras from the party soon after – like this mess-free glittered forks DIY and lots of free printables – but got sidetracked with other projects and deadlines before we could get all of the tutorials up. Fast forward to today though, and it’s time to pick up where we left off, starting with one of my personal favorite elements of this party… the crowns!

While it may be true that life is more fun with a party hat, a royal birthday celebration calls for Party CROWNS right? ;) And instead of creating everything from scratch, we kept things very easy by ordering small plastic crowns online and dressing them up with crafty pops of color. Colored sequins, craft poms, and a little hot glue are all you need to quickly transform basic crowns into happy-go-lucky birthday party gear that’s royally fun!

A Colorful, Toy-Inspired Cocktail Party for Fisher-Price

rainbow cocktail party decor

CHEERS to new experiences! Last month, I designed a cocktail party for Fisher-Price® that was hosted in a different sort of venue than I’m personally used to… right smack in the middle of their tradeshow booth. This was at the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas, so there were a decent amount of logistical hurdles to navigate due to the exhibition hall location & super tight party set-up window, but in the end we were really excited about how it turned out. I hope you like it too!

Best of all, our whole team was able to come, which made for an extra-fun trip (it was Vegas, after all!) – and this is also what actually made it possible to set up for the event in a little over an hour. Don’t think we weren’t still attempting to add more details as the first guests arrived though. For my fellow party stylists, you know how that goes. ;)

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

– Giant “Cocktail Glasses” made from paper towel holders, acrylic cake domes, & toy “cocktail skewers”
– 36″ Rainbow confetti balloons with colorful DIY geometric tassel garlands
– Toy-inspired cocktails, like the “Ritzy Rock-a-Stack” garnished with a candy ring straw
– Playful LED Letters on the food buffet as a nod to the Las Vegas location
– Big prop spoon filled with toy rings as “cereal” + Rock-a-Stack inspired framed graphics

best possible start sign

large blocks sign display

The catering staff members at the tradeshow were very good sports with our special requests! They happily put on the matching aprons we made and helped dress up all the tray passed apps with the food picks we brought in, which definitely helped us with our time crunch. The bartenders humored all of my candy cocktail garnish requests too. ;)

How to Make Grilled BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza {Video} + Free Farmer’s Market Party Printables

Grilled BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza Tutorial

Have you ever tried grilling flatbread directly on the BBQ? There’s something so great about seeing those beautiful grill marks on the bread…especially when you’ve made them yourself!

Grilling flatbread is surprisingly quick to do, but there are definitely a few small-yet-impactful tricks that will make the process a LOT easier – and I’m speaking from personal trial and error here! I recently teamed up with Krusteaz® to create a little video tutorial that highlights some of these helpful flatbread grilling tips, which you can watch below. Pay special attention to the method of oiling the grill and the style of baking pan used to get the dough on and off the grill grates… it’s a life saver. ;)

The video features a Grilled BBQ Chicken Flatbread Pizza using one of the brand new Krusteaz Flatbread Mixes (in the Garlic and Onion flavor), which makes it super easy to whip up the dough. This simple recipe is a tried-and-true favorite in my book, but of course you can change up the toppings on your own grilled flatbread however you like!

Free Farmer’s Market Party Printables + Weber Grill Giveaway

Another fun idea for grilling your own flatbread is to set up a little “Flatbread Social” station with all sorts of fresh toppings, then let your dinner guests create their own personal sized flatbread pizzas using their favorite toppings.

And… inspired by this fresh toppings idea, I also designed some Farmer’s Market Inspired Party Printables to go along with it! Scroll down to check them out, along with a few coordinating DIY party ideas like cut burlap “placemats”, kraft bag utensil holders, and a quick & easy veggie centerpiece that packs a very HEALTHY dose of color. ;)

You’ll find the download links for the printables at the bottom of the post, along with info on a Weber Grill Sweepstakes that you won’t want to miss!

puppy and kitty party decor ideas

Meow! Woof! All pets are welcome here :). Louisa Kopp from the adorable blog, Ice Cream off Paper Plates, styled this equally adorably Playful Puppy and Kitten 2nd Birthday Party for her son’s big day! Using lots of yarn, newspapers, stamps and other common items was a super clever way for her to get the most out of similar things (i.e. yarn balls, yarn wrapped letters, yarn banners, etc.) and probably stay on budget! That’s what I call the cat’s meow ;).

“This cake is inspired by one that a volleyball teammate of mine and I made years ago. I thought it would be fun to recreate it for our pseudo sports themed party. It’s really simple and includes only five ingredients!”

Football parties can be such a fun way to get into the game — with yummy snacks, team decor and a house full of excited friends! But for Britni Vigil of Play. Party. As an added bonus, Britni is generously sharing the recipe for her “Better than Football” Chocolate Cake (a bold statement, but I can’t really imagine anything better than the perfect chocolate cake). Party on a Dime Charity Challenge {Cast Your Vote!}

Hey, Party People… I’ve got a special announcement today that involves 3 fantastic things: creativity on a budget, a great cause, and YOU!

Balloon Time has challenged 8 talented party stylists to host a real event with one Balloon Time helium tank + a budget of only $100! I don’t know how many of you have ever attempted to stick to a tight party budget, but let me tell you, what these ladies pulled off is SO impressive and really shows what you can accomplish when you find creative ways to utilize the things you already have.

Now here’s the part where you come in! Check out some highlights from each party below, then go to Balloon Time’s Facebook right here and vote for your favorite party. The winner will receive $5,000 for the charity of their choice.

Some of the charities are particularly near & dear to my own heart, and ALL of them are wonderful causes. You can vote once a day, so make sure to check back often to see how your favorites are doing! We will also be featuring each one of these amazing parties in full detail on the blog once the contest is over. Voting ends on September 30th. Scroll down for a quick peek at the contenders!
