Don’t let some less than perfect weather put a damper on your party! Jo Williams of Pretty Little Party Shop UK suspected that her daughter’s May birthday might be a little wet, so she planned ahead and created this Garden Festival Glamping Birthday Party with a beautifully decked out tent (just in case). Turns out, mom was right! The tent definitely came in handy and allowed the girls to enjoy their tea party from a much more comfortable spot ;).
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:
– Pink lace & rosebud decorated cake & matching floral rag-tie wrapped cupcake & lunch containers
– Lace doily garlands, hanging tissue poms from the ceiling of the tent & wildflower bouquets
– A vintage suitcase with lunches, milk bottle crate with strawberries & cream + a dessert table desk
PARTY DETAILS as told by Jo…
We put together this party for my nine year old daughter Bea. Bea wanted to invite her
friends over for a grown up garden tea party but as her Birthday is in early May the weather here can be predictably English (wet) so we thought it would be a fun idea to have a ‘garden festival’ party and have a tent on hand if we needed the shelter!
We used a gorgeous canvas bell tent, vintage linens and hay bales to set the scene and created a relaxed laid back ‘garden festival’. For one of our activities the girls had a flower decorating competition and created their own arrangements of blooms in mini milk bottles to take home for their Mum’s. We made little party pails out of soup tubs and added string for a handle, each one contained an individual cup cake and an old suitcase was filled with noodle boxes, each one an individual lunch box for the guests. For dessert what else but strawberries and cream!
We all had a truly wonderful day, it rained a little but the cozy tent saved the day and we all slept in it that night!
