All-American Baseball Birthday Party

All American Baseball Birthday Party

Play ball! Abigail Barnes of Paper and Cake is batting 1000 with this All American Baseball Birthday Party that she planned and styled for her son. The birthday boy & his friends enjoyed classic baseball snacks while getting to do what they love best! I am loving the vintage feel of the printables & decor, reminds me of The Sandlot (one of the all-time greatest baseball movies in my opinion) :). It’s safe to say Abigail hit it out of the park with this one!

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

– Classic baseball snacks like sunflower seeds, bubble gum, peanuts & boxes of popcorn
– Baseball stitch decorated printables, layered push-cakes + bat & baseball shaped candy favors
– All-American foods like apple pie bars, hot dogs & watermelon + baseball cake balls

PARTY DETAILS as told by Abigail
:

I’m still in MAJOR shock that my little boy turned nine this month. Seems like yesterday he was eight? This is a kid that just LOVES baseball, so of course, I had to put together a baseball birthday party!

We pulled out ALL the stops for this themed party! Starting with the decor, a vintage vibe was the focus of all the party decorations. From the invitations, to the pennant flags to the party favor bag toppers, all of the paper printables were designed in a light tan and cream pinstripes with red illustrations and dark gray typography. Even a giant vinyl “sponsor” banner hung on the chain link of the backstop to take home the theme.

Our vintage “door” table sat over home plate (for a while anyway) loaded down with every all-American, baseball themed item we could think of! Lemonade was served up in a red white and blue dispenser, right next to jars filled with bubble gum, sunflower seeds and shell-on peanuts. Kettle corn and watermelon slices rounded out the pre-lunch snacks. My son’s favorite team caps ended up part of the display, along with little league balls, and mini baseball bats.

The guy with a hot dog cart arrived and set up to serve kosher beef and chicken dogs to my hungry ball players. We figured that the kids would play ball for 3 and a half hours with 2 little breaks to grab a dog and to sing happy birthday. Some of the kids came dressed in their full little league gear, some came in flip flops. EVERYONE had a great time, even the grandparents who were sitting in the shade cheering.

Now, let’s talk sweets. I admit, I didn’t make the desserts. The Pushcakes® and Apple Pie bars came from Kristin at Meringue Bake Shop, and the baseball Cake Balls came from Roni at Roni’s Sugar Creations. We stuffed our faces until there was not a crumb of sweets left! The party favor candies came from Marie at Sweets Indeed — so easy on the budget & so cute!

Special thanks: All the sports photography was done by my sister (no, my other sister) Sarah. She worked her butt off to get these shots and at the end of the party, needed a shower more than any kid! And lastly, my husband — he played every minute that the kids did. He was coach, pitcher, catcher, outfielder and everything in between, a real hall-of-famer if you ask me!

All in all, this was an EPIC party that will not soon be forgotten.
