Sharon Ho of Bloom Cake Co. styled and baked ALL of the amazing desserts for this Neon Rainbow Hello Kitty Birthday Party! That must have been quite a fête! I am loving the fun twist put on Hello Kitty’s usual pink theme, with bright rainbow colors & a cool punk rock vibe. After all, Hello Kitty herself says, “Happiness comes in all colors of the rainbow!” :)
PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:
– Three-tiered neon rainbow cake with Hello Kitty topper (in an outfit matching the birthday girl’s)
– Rainbow tissue pinwheels & large rainbow bows on a gold striped backdrop
– Hello Kitty macarons & cake pops + rainbow heart topped pink cupcakes & neon splattered donuts
– Rainbow chocolate dipped cookies & pink strawberry milk served in a tea party area
PARTY DETAILS as told by Sharon…
Like many little girls, my daughter loves Hello Kitty. She loves all the girly things but she also has a tomboy side… she has an out going personality, is extremely funny and is a real joker. So instead of the typical all pink Hello Kitty theme, I added an array of neon rainbow colors to make it look more festive. The white and gold backdrop was from my party planner friend Rachel of Party with Chloe in Toronto Canada, and instead of tissue paper pom poms, I made large tissue paper boxes in matching colors to suit the Hello Kitty theme.
For dessert, we had a three tiered cake as the center piece with each tier designed in the matching neon rainbow colors and various patterns and prints. The outfit on the Hello Kitty topper matches the outfit of the birthday girl — a black tutu with rainbow polka dots and a cute little top hat. We also had Hello Kitty cake pops, confetti cupcakes with raspberry swiss meringue buttercream, Hello Kitty macarons, meringue kisses, donuts drizzled in colored candy melts, strawberry milk and various candies for the candy jars. All of the desserts were made and prepared by me with the exception of the donuts.
