PARTY DETAILS as told by Rima

Here’s a party where monkeying around wasn’t off limits — it was encouraged! Kate, my “curious” daughter, was turning to terrific TWO which made us all GO BANANAS!

The party was all a DIY creative project. It was filled with cheerful yellow, red and brown colors with a Curious George theme — perfect for little Kate who is always been curious with everything around her!

Centerpieces: A bunch of bananas (with two balloons) were perfect yet simple for centerpieces to keep the “monkey” theme while representing the age of TWO.

Decorations: The venue was enwrapped with bold yellow paper lanterns to sunny up the ambiance. Also, we asked for our guests to dress in yellow, which made feel like part of the decor!

Favors: The kids brought home favor bags with personalized name tags full of delicious goodies. The adults also went home with banana bunches, which were wrapped with cute red ribbons.

Kid’s Table: We made personalized placemats for each kid. Each cup was wrapped with black ribbon which portrayed the famous yellow hat in the Curious George movies. Also, we created a circle monkey George napkin ring for each setting.

Chalkboard: “Two years have passed, and look at how much Curious Kate has grown.” The chalkboard was charmingly designed with some fun information about Kate.

Dessert Table: We kept with the yellow theme for this table by using lots of sunny sweets for the kids and adults to enjoy. They were all prepared special for Curious Kate’s party theme. Besides the beautiful park as the background, we added Kate’s name in yellow wooden letters and felt fabric. In addition, a giant stuffed George visited the party and was displayed in front of the dessert table. We also added a copy of ‘The Adventures of Curious George.’

Invitation: We made the DIY banana invitations with card stock and felt fabric. It looked very much like a real banana! The invitations were mailed with banana recycle-paper envelopes and Curious George labels.

The party was an absolute blast! Guests, both big and little, enjoyed visiting the various stations and awing over the dessert table. Doing a lot of creative details myself and integrating items I already had into the party allowed me to stay within budget. I had almost as much fun planning and styling this party for my little monkey as she did playing with George!
