PARTY DETAILS as told by Dorangela…
Honeycomb themed baby shower took place on a beautiful sunny day in Florida. The stylist and sister of the mother-to-be derived the concept from the beautiful shape of the honeycomb pattern on the photo boxes she used as pedestals on the dessert table. To keep it elegant the entire party consisted of a bright yellow, gold, kraft brown and white color scheme. Some special touches include a vintage dresser with flowers coming out of the drawers, gold painted paper lanterns resembling bee hives floating over the dessert table. All the desserts were kissed with a touch of honey and included, honey panna cotta topped with pieces of honeycomb, lemon honey cake in the shape of a pull apart honeycomb, yellow rosette vanilla honey cake filled with lemon curd, complete with edible bees, and individual mini jars of French honey.
For the food, keeping with the theme and color scheme, mini quiches, individual pesto pasta cups garnished with lemon wedges, baked brie with honey and fig preserves, deviled eggs, and fresh fruit skewers with an orange honey marmalade dip were all served. There was also an Arnold Palmer drink station on a gold bar cart with individual mason jars and wood grain paper straws.
The guest of honor sat in an antique peacock chair nestled next to antique tea trays in the same color scheme, to open baby gifts. A whimsical vintage bike with a basket filled with bright yellow flowers greeted guests and made a perfect prop for the mother-to-be to take some lovely photos. Yellow flowers filled the entire party and apothecary jars filled with honeycomb cereal continue to carry the theme throughout this party. On the way out of the party a wicker picnic basket filled with mini honey jars served as favors for the guests to take home.
