PARTY DETAILS, as told by Kim

My little one is a very energetic, happy, vibrant little girl with the caring ‘old soul’ of my sweet grandmother. So I wanted something very feminine for her 3rd birthday and the theme “a Vintage Rose Garden” was born. I wanted it to feel like something that my grandmother would have loved with ruffles, lace, pearls and of course glitz. I combined lots of soft blush mixed with pearl metallic, gold and tiffany blue colors. Big rose bloom graphics with a happy little blue bird that you can imagine singing the perfect song. There are actually many elements of the party that were my grandmother’s personal belongings, which meant so much me and will to Maddi some day when she’s older. I used my grandmother’s hand-crafted doilies under the cupcake tower and her vintage gold mirrors to display sweets. The dresser belonged to the sweetest lil’ 99 year-old lady that once lived at my grandma’s care home. She loved to make people laugh and I could almost hear her giggle in delight at the party.

It’s so easy to make things personal, but it does require time, so always plan ahead.  I started with a cute little bathing suit and then began purchasing and making all the items from there. Custom water bottle labels were just simple strips of glitter card stock and 3D vintage stickers purchased at a local craft store. The backdrop was left over fabric that perfectly matched the invitations (totally got lucky there) and the 3D letter M was just paper mache spray painted with gold metallic paint.  I was extremely lucky to find the darling mini rose plants at the Dollar Tree including the tiffany ceramic vases — score!! :)
