PARTY DETAILS, as told by Yolanda…
When my client Brenda asked me to style her son Leon’s 5th birthday party, she specifically requested two things: city skylines and aeroplanes. She explained her son’s obsession with tall buildings and aeroplanes and given the amount of travel this family does, I could understand why. When I met Leon, he carried with him a collection of model aeroplanes including Cathay Pacific and Qantas. Brenda explained that the dessert table and the birthday cake had to feature a realistic aeroplane, no happy faces allowed.
With this criteria in mind, we started with a custom designed boarding pass invitation and matching printables from Anders Ruff. Anders Ruff also custom designed a backdrop featuring a city skyline that set the scene for the dessert table. The birthday cake emulated the backdrop, and also featured a Qantas model aircraft topper. Dessert highlights, included marshmallow propeller pops and aeroplane cookies.
The venue was styled to look like an airport food court, and the children where entertained by a pilot and air hostess.
For favors, the children also took home a paper suitcase shaped favor box filled with lots of candy and treats.
