Tonya Coleman here from Soireé Event Design, and I’m back with the “Trend Alert” where I share with you some of the hottest trends in party planning! Today’s guest post is all about the hot new trend of having Custom Outfits to Match Your Party’s Theme! Popping up all over the party scene are parties featuring the birthday girl or boy in custom designed outfits that match their party’s theme perfectly.
This party theme is inspired by the hot new doll collection, LaDeeDa which are a group of girls studying fashion design in New York City who LOVE fashion! My daughter LOVES the dolls and when designing this party I called on my friend Jessica Ruiz from Nevaeh’s Baby Couture to create a one-of-a-kind replica of the doll’s outfit that the birthday girl could wear for the party. She nailed it!
Check out this fabulous outfit plus matching accessories custom designed by Jessica Ruiz from Nevaeh’s Baby Couture. You may remember her from an earlier “Girly Circus” post where she created a gorgeous custom outfit for my daughter Riley. You can check it out here.
The details are simply AMAZING! Check out how she replicated the jewelry the doll is wearing, the red bow and even every single detail in the dress! She even created her own designer taxi cab handbag to go with the NYC vibe. This is an investment to have done for your child, but the photo ops alone at the party are PRICELESS and the fact that your child has a one-of-a-kind item that she will love & wear for a while after the party is a definite BONUS! My daughter still wants to wear this dress… ALL THE TIME and whenever she wears it in public she gets SO MANY COMPLIMENTS she just beams with excitement.
To add that extra special touch you can also have custom designed accessories made that each guest can take home. Here I setup a Dress Up Bar where the girls could pick and choose from various custom designed accessories including hair pins, necklaces, earrings and Jessica’s signature bib necklace and flower shirt clips.
For the birthday girl, Jessica custom made a super cute fabric sketch book that matched the theme perfectly! Needless to say, that surprise gift was a HIT!
