Radical & NEON Roller Skate Party

Radical & NEON Roller Skate Party

Are you ready to see one of the coolest 11th birthday parties ever!? One of our PARTY SHOP Members Abigail Barnes of Paper and Cake created this Radical & NEON Roller Skate Party for her daughter Autumn! This is Abigail’s first time “on location” for one of her kids parties, and she did an amazing job working with the space! See how she uses neon confetti, healthy snacks (of course sweet treats too!) and printable decoration to transform the picnic style tables at the rink!

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

– Roller skate party printable bunting and silhouettes on giant neon clothespins!
– Neon sprinkle brownie pops, roller skate shaped Rice Krispie treats and pushcakes
– “Thanks for rollin’ with me” neon shoelace party favors

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Abigail
:

For my daughter’s 11th birthday we took the party to the local Roller Rink. My daughter wears these plastic neon green glasses just about everywhere we go, so clearly she’s got a thing for neon.

This is the first time I’ve had any of my kid’s birthdays at a venue, and even though it was just a touch tricky on the set up, it can be done, and it is SO worth it! We knew we would be working with picnic style tables, so we decided to style three, separate, fully functional tablescapes.

FOOD TABLE

Since the party was at 10 am, we wanted to give these kids some fuel to skate the day away. We created neon popcorn boxes, filled them with cereal, and added a cute little sticker round to tie it all together. Fruit Skewers and mini muffins were the biggest hit of the day… until dessert. We also offered yogurt parfaits in cute little containers with a washi tape adornment. We went with mini birthday pennant banners for the tables to keep the decor centralized.

DESSERT TABLE

Of course this table is always the most popular at any party! We are particularly excited about our handmade Pushcake Stand… this was a huge hit and so easy to make! Homemade Brownie pops flew off the tray (we think its because of the super cute glitterstix). Roller skate shaped rice krispie treats with neon sprinkles was easily one of my favorite things. For party favors, we sent the kiddies home with neon shoelaces and boxes filled with neon sour gummy worms.. yummmm! Each table was sprinkled with handmade neon confetti and it really completed the entire look of the party.

DRINK TABLE

We offered orange juice, water, and starbucks bottled coffees for the parents to enjoy. Neon washi tape on the straws doubled as flags as well as a spot for everyone to write their name on.

Honestly, the best part of this party was seeing everyone having a blast on the rink. Something about slapping on a pair of roller skates brings out the kid in everyone, including myself. It was such a blast! I recommend taking your next party to the rink and giving it a splash of neon!

The printable set is for sale here, and it does include a resource guide this time in addition to all of the regular printable items.

This us super cute. I am very interested in this package as my daughter is having a skating birthday party in like 2 months. Unfortunately I am not allowed to bring in any outside food with the exception of the cake :(. Anyway I would love more details in the package before I buy it. For example how do the invitations look like? I have never bought anything like this i always make it myself but time is a constrain this year. Please let me know. Thanks.
