Vintage Beachy Luau Party {Pink + Blue}

Vintage Beachy Luau Party {Pink + Blue}

I wish I could sip on pink drinks with hibiscus straws like all the lucky girls at this Vintage Beachy Pink Luau Party! Tammy of Tammy Mitchell Designs used an oh-so-lovely mix of soft pinks & blues to create the perfect atmosphere for an ocean-inspired birthday celebration. Fun activities included things like lei making and a hula hoop contest, but I’m especially sweet on the sand castle decorating station – (think gingerbread house… beach style!) – and officially wish ALL sand castles were made of brown sugar!

PARTY HIGHLIGHTS to look out for:

– Brown sugar & graham cracker sand castle decorating activity
– Starfish + sand dollar sugar cookies and beach ball cake pops
– Kids table pink lei chandelier + baby’s breath in mason jars filled with shells
– Beachy burlap lunch sacks & grass skirt chair back decor
– A white birthday cake with pink candy melt sand dollars & brown sugar “sand”

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Tammy
:

I recently threw this Hawaiian Luau party for my daughter’s 6th birthday. Rather than the traditional bright colors, I used a palette of pinks and blues. It was very soft and feminine and fun!

Some of my favorite touches were the handmade ”sandcastle” that I created for the food table out of graham crackers, ice cream cones and brown sugar. I created mini castles for each of the guests and they decorated them with sand (brown sugar and frosting) and candy as one of the activities. The girls had a great time and it was fun to see each of their unique castles once they were finished. Other activities included the limbo (complete with a pink ribbon decorated limbo pole), lei making, and a “HULA” hoop contest.

I also created a lei chandelier above the kids table which was a big hit. The party favors doubled as place cards at the table. They were small pink beach buckets with blue handles. I filled each one with a pink and white beach ball and a few other pink and blue goodies. I served “sand” wiches for lunch with chips individually packaged in small burlap sacks.

We also had white chocolate shells that I made from candy melts, pink and white beach ball cake pops, starfish sugar cookies, and pink lemonade. The cake was a simple two tier white cake that I had my local grocery store make for me. I embellished it with pink sand dollars that I made from candy melts, and brown sugar sand.
