Tattoo Inspired Baby Shower + “Get Inked” Station

It’s always fun to see an outside-the-box baby shower theme – especially when it’s highly personalized to the guest of honor – and this Tattoo Inspired Baby Shower by Michelle of Cakewalk fits the bill perfectly… dad-to-be is a tattoo artist! The “3D heart tattoo” dessert table backdrop is especially clever… I love how she outlined the paper flowers in black ink.

I love creating events that are tailored to the guest of honors likes, loves and style. So when the host approached me about a co-ed baby shower for her brother and sister-in-law, my first question was, “what do they like?” She laughed, “tattoos!” Turns out dad-to-be is a tattoo artist- and so the theme was born.

I chose the classic tattoo colors of black, red, yellow, green and blue and the ever popular heart and banner as my design focus. I created invitations, water bottle labels, baby shower bingo cards, birth certificate notes, table signs, and guest log, favor labels to complete the event. We also set up a tattoo station where guests could ‘get inked’ with temporary tattoos!

And on the dessert table a cake with baby’s name on a heart and banner and cake pop roses. Brownies featuring our party rounds. Cake pops and heart and banner sugar cookies and I heart mom and dad onesie cookies. The back drop features paper roses made from recycled mailing envelopes!

This was a really fun theme to work with and mom and dad-to-be were so excited with their custom designed baby shower!
