This incredible, Alice in Wonderland-inspired Rustic and Whimsical 30th Un-birthday Bash by KaLice Events is bursting with creativity! It’s also a refreshing, modern-day take on this classic fairy tale that never gets old.
With fun, stylish details like 3-tiered rustic wooden cake stands, bright & whimsical party hats, hand-stamped “eat me” & “drink me” tags, a “hot chocolate on a stick” drink bar, a giantic wooden playhouse complete with a pair of “Alice” and her “Mad Hatter” stringdolls, a gourmet spread of desserts and hors d’oeuvres, and more – this is truly a whimsical, yet sophisticated dreamland that everyone can enjoy! I’m delighted to see all the different styles and textures come together to create the ultimate Un-Birthday Bash (shouldn’t every birthday over 30 be an “Un-Birthday? *wink*).

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Alice…
THEME, INVITE, & DECOR
“We decided to blend in fun, whimsical, and sophisticated elements together to create a party that not only appealed to kids, but also ‘big kids’ alike. Instead of a vivid colorful ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed party, we opted for a rustic theme with a color palette of white, silver, beige, and purple with some ‘old school’ ‘Alice-in-Wonderland’ flair added to every party decor.
The vintage inspired party invitation was hand cut, aged and hand stamped using wassau card stock. To bring out the ‘Wonderlandia’ theme, we displayed an oversized handmade welcome sign decorated with a grey and silver damask print tea pot, skeleton keys, and a few lollies at the entrance.
Each guest was greeted with a whimsical party hat that’s handmade with either a teacup or a hat embellisment. On the main table, we made use of burlap, mason jars, and french cotton letter ribbons to create candle holders and scattered them around a giantic wooden playhouse with little ‘Alice’ and her ‘Mad Hatter’ stringdolls sitting on it.
The party continued with games such as wonderland inspired scavenger hunt, trivia questions, mini vs giantic poker card game. There’s also the fun photobooth with hand-made props featuring wonderland costumes! Toward the end of the party, each guest wrote a special message on the wishing tree for the birthday girl as a keepsake and was then sent off with a florish print muslin bag with goodies as a party favor.
Our dessert/hors d’oeuvre spread includes macaroon, eclair, apple tort, Paris breast, plum bacon foie gras, salmon soup shot, mini kobe burger, and many more!! The special treats were topped with a ‘eat me’, ‘drink me’ sign that was prematurely soak-stained using a blend of vanilla and coffee. Not to mention the backdrop we created at the party treats table which was adorned with a burlap birthday banner with DIY paper rosettes.
The birthday cake tower was set on a rustic wooden stand, with the bottom two tiers filled with regular and mini cupcakes wrapped in lace glitter paper. The un-birthday cake on top then finished off the entire display with rustic elegance. Apart from the good eats, an assortment of herbal tea, coffee, and wine were served. The highlight was of course, the ‘chocolate on a stick’ that we set on the dessert table, from home-style marshmallows to cinnamon powder, guests had fun mixing their own cup of hot cocoas with their favorite condiments.”
