Free Party Printables: Breaking Dawn Quotes (Twilight Saga)

Breaking Dawn Party Ideas - Free Printable Quotes

So… rumor has it there’s a new movie coming out tonight at midnight. ;)  I seriously can’t even tell you how many emails, comments, wall posts, and tweets I’ve received lately asking for new printable quotes and party ideas for Breaking Dawn (as follow-ups to the rest of the Twilight party ideas & printables we’ve posted in the past).

I promise I haven’t been ignoring the requests – it’s just literally been one thing after another over here for a while now, and I’ve been grasping for hours to work on this project that just haven’t materialized yet due to everything else… and then yesterday I received a MOST WELCOME email from freelance graphic designer Cassandra Poertnerwho just so happens to have whipped up some great printable quotes of her own for a friend and wanted to make them available to anyone else that might want to use them – how nice is that?! There are EIGHT 5×7 quotes and TWO 8×10 quotes – all ready to be downloaded, printed & displayed for the viewing pleasure of you and your party guests.

Breaking Dawn Party Ideas - Free Printable Quotes

You’ll find links to download the quotes in either jpeg or pdf format at the bottom of this post… and if you’d like to thank Cassandra for offering these up, here’s a link to her company facebook page. Thanks again, Cassandra!! :) (more…)

Soft & Sweet Silhouette Birthday Party

I’m giddy with excitement to tell you about this super sweet and absolutely AMAZING Girly Silhouette Birthday Party for Mia thrown by Paige, of Paiges of Style and Betsy of Betsy Blue Photography (Mia’s Mommy). Paige has become one of my dear friends, and we have HWTM to thank for “introducing us”! We first met when I was working on one of my very first posts for HWTM – which just so happened to be the  incredible Curious Charlie Monkey Party that she threw for her daughter Charlie.

As always, everything about this latest party from Paige is simply adorable, from the breathtaking layer cake and donut tower adorned with fabric flowers to the all-decked-out paper party hats. I’m in complete awe over the silhouette cake pops created by Kris kCreative Cake Pops too! Can you believe she was able to take Mia’s darling silhouette and turn it into an edible work of art? These have to be one of my all time favorite cake pops ever. I know who I will be calling for my next party. ;)

I’m also loving the large silhouette-themed fondant cake topper created by my other favorite sweets gal, Charynn of Two Sugar Babies.

Last but not least, a party wouldn’t be complete without custom coordinating party printables, and Paige designed several perfectly pastel silhouette party staples, including water bottle labels, cupcake wrappers, juice box wraps, party hats, and more (all of which are available for purchase from Paiges of Style).

Modern Elephants on Parade Baby Shower

Modern Elephant Themed Baby Shower

Remember the way-too-much-fun “MILKaholic Baby Shower” we featured earlier this year? Well, the creative genius behind that shower – Carrie of Half Baked – is back with another adorable, polka-dot filled baby shower that she recently threw for her sister… this time with an “Elephants on Parade” theme!

Carrie’s bold & modern signature style really shines through again here… and I especially love how she once again managed to make BLACK work so well for a baby shower, while still keeping the overall feel of the party adorable and SWEET (in more ways than one!).

Owl Fall Table + HomeGoods Challenge Part 1

Thanksgiving Holiday Table Owls - White and Gold

HomeGoods recently asked me if I’d be interested in shopping one of their stores and coming up with a creative Fall tablescape and highlighting some fall entertaining trends. Um… lemme think about that for a sec? Just kidding… YES, please! ;)

If you’ve followed the blog for a while, you probably already know that HomeGoods is already one of my standard go-to places for party decor and has been pretty much since I first set foot in one. Obviously the prices are the initial attraction – which is great because I rarely feel bad about modifying certain pieces with a coat of paint or some rhinestones to get them “party theme ready” – but you can also find so many different kinds of things in one place – from vases and interesting figurines & statues for centerpieces to dishes and linens, frames, pillar holders, holiday decor & more. The pieces I’ve scooped up at HG can be spotted throughout countless past blog posts and party themes… from pretty much every single apothecary jar in all our candy buffet set-ups to to the flamingos, tea pots, and cool “face silhouette tea light holders” from Wonderlandia that were “blowing butterflies” at the party! Oh, and of course the $10 flying pig garden statue from Wonderlandia that we dressed up with some bright pink and metallic gold spray paint! She sits on a shelf daughter’s room now and still makes me happy every time I walk in there. ;)

Thanksgiving Holiday Table Owls - White and Gold

Anyways, back to the present day and the focus on Fall/Holiday… there were some gold and white pinecone plates I’d just spotted & fell in love with at HomeGoods even before getting the fun email from them, so my mind immediately went there, but I wasn’t sure what else to surround them with yet for the rest of the table…. so Sonny came with me to the store with the camera to document the “finding” process.

The neutral palette of the plates made them an easy fit with several centerpiece design options, so the only difficulty with the shopping trip was keeping this one from literally jumping out of the cart at every turn since she would’ve much rather been grabbing at all the pretty things there were to look at!

In keeping with the nature of the blog, (and how I usually do things myself anyways) I wanted to make sure that the final Fall table incorporated some things I already owned (acrylic chargers, utensils, wine glasses) + some new finds (see below) + some DIY/crafty elements (manzanita tree, ribbon accents, place cards) so that readers can easily replicate this look at home. (It actually would work well for both Thanksgiving & Christmas!) So without further adieu, here’s a photo recap of the shopping trip, followed by shots & details on how the final table design turned out at home(more…)

Christina & Jason’s Fall-Inspired Wedding

Red and Black Fall Halloween Wedding

It always amazes me how creative weddings are these days! I love it when couples really let their personalities & love story shine through, just like Christina and Jason did here with their beautiful and fun Fall-inspired weddingwhich includes hints of Halloween! – as coordinated by Antonia Christianson Events.

Before we jump to a full pictorial of the wedding story (including detail shots of the bride’s GORGEOUS dress, accessories & bouquet!), scroll down for a note from the planner, Antonia, to help give you some background on the inspiration for this creative wedding

Red and Black Fall Halloween Wedding

NOTE from Antonia…
“Christina and Jason were a great couple looking for a wedding that was not only memorable but also a good time for their guests! Christina came to us with a very distinct vision for a fun fall wedding, and we really ran with that idea. Of course pumpkins, lanterns, and deep reds were highlighted throughout the entire wedding, but the groom, Jason, also wanted to incorporate “Fall” with hints of Halloween.  He wanted  zombie-styled table numbers and a doppelganger “day of the dead” cake topper.  Jason and Christina really had a lot of fun with the guest details and even incorporated the beginning of their love story into their “first look pictures”. (They met at a local Starbucks and first saw each other on their wedding day at the same location).”

Eerie & Elegant “Wicked Hallow’s Eve” Party

Adult Halloween Party

Abigail of Paper & Cake doesn’t think kids should be the only ones having fun on Halloween and we agree! She styled and designed a spooky, yet sophisticated adult dinner party starring her new Wicked Hallow’s Eve printable collection and went for a deadly color combination of black and white with splashes of purple throughout.

The creative use of everyday items such as wine glasses an apothecary jars is SPOOKTACULAR here! For example: turning wine glasses upside down makes the perfect cupcake pedestal. Who knew?! And mini “viles” of Absolute Vodka displayed in apothecary jars makes for both functional & decorative decor. The eerie off-kilter ghostly photos above the mantel take center stage at this party, while an alluring black candelabra serves as the perfect elegant table centerpiece. It’s also refreshing that she didn’t go overboard with the sweets, but snuck them in as decorative edible additions.
