“Double Happiness” Baby Naming Ceremony

pink white flower bouquet and tablescape

We are over the top in love with the gorgeous floral arrangements from this party honoring twin baby girls, as coordinated by Amy Nichols Special Events. This reception was held after a traditional Hebrew Baby Naming Ceremony, and it’s full of sweet, pink inspiration & ideas that can be utilized for all sorts of occasions!

Amy’s client chose a “double happiness” theme that is incorporated in the fabulous pink details, flowering cherry blossoms, and delicious desserts. The glittered table cover adds a touch of glam to this oh-so-chic display!

Creative V-Day: “The Games That Cupid Plays”

Valentine's Day Party Ideas - Fondue

More “LOVE-ly” eye candy for you today! This whimsical take on Valentine’s Day is courtesy of Vicky of A Subtle Revelry. Vicky’s parties are always full of unique and beautiful handmade ideas, and this “The Games That Cupid Plays” theme is no exception!

The holiday garland re-purposed into a heart-shaped backdrop for Valentine’s Day is such a simple, yet clever & striking idea, and cheese fondue was switched up from the traditional family-style set-up to more of an individual appetizer by serving it on small glass plates set atop wine glasses filled with tealights… genius! Also adoring this beautiful, handmade metallic garland/bunting

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! Here’s some pretty eye candy for you from Ladna of November Lily, a boutique styling house & event design atelier that was founded in Dubai but recently opened a branch in Dallas, TX!

I’m just loving how so many people are utilizing tiered candleabras as dessert “servers” lately. They make for such a pretty display… HomeGoods is a great place to find similar designs to the one pictured here at super-reasonable prices!

Arbor Mist Brunch Recap + Free Printables

Purple and Green Party Wedding Ideas

I’m so excited to finally share the details {& free party printables!} with you from the editor’s brunch that I styled & co-hosted earlier this month with Arbor Mist in NYC! Between the lush “Rooftop Garden” location at the Gramercy Park Hotel and the vibrant colors in the party decor, it really felt like a warm spring day during the party, despite the fact that it was actually February 4th in a very wintry New York City!

The theme of the event was inspired by 2 of the fruit enhanced wines from Arbor Mist that guests would be tasting at brunch – White Pear Pinot Grigio and Blackberry Merlot – and also by their fun “Up for Anything” tag line. I focused on a blackberry & green color palette with accents of fruit, and designed a suite of paper party elements to match that includes everything from invitations and drink tags to napkin rings, menus, favor tags, and more. Here’s a peek at how it all turned out…

Purple and Green Party Wedding Ideas

Purple and Green Party Wedding Ideas

While the there’s a lot going on with the decor overall, it was important to me to keep the ideas very approachable – just like Arbor Mist is approachable when it comes to entertaining. You just open, serve & enjoy… no fancy ingredients to worry about or mixing/shaking/muddling required!

If you look at the decor elements individually, you’ll probably notice that they’re relatively simple: pocket-fold napkins embellished with paper wraps, clusters of bud vases surrounding grapewood for the table centerpieces, pears adorned with glitter, paper lanterns embellished with ribbon, flowers in suspended test tube vases, etc… (more…)

Bird-Inspired Baby Shower {Yellow & Gray}

Amazing Yellow & Gray Bird Inspired Baby Shower

Baby on the brain? GOOD… because Julianne of A Modern Proposal Event Planning knows just how to throw an amazing baby shower! Even if you’re nowhere near “nesting” mode right now though, you can still enjoy this wonderfully modern & fresh Bird-Inspired Baby Shower, complete with a fabulous (and gender-neutral!) yellow & gray color palette.

Julianne did an amazing job creating an oh-so chic shower by incorporating one of the mom-to-be’s loves: birds. I’m definitely a passenger on the bird theme bandwagon. From owls to robins, you can’t go wrong with a bird themed party. The use of designer fabric throughout the party does a nice job tying everything together. Say bye-bye to streamers and hello to felt flowers and tissue paper pom-poms! The modern baby shower is here to stay…

“Leopard, Lace, & Love” for Valentine’s Day

Leopard Lace Love Valentine's Day Party Theme

Is this “Leopard, Lace, and LOVE” theme fabulous or what?! Although it was originally dreamed up for Valentine’s Day, this look would translate beautifully to a lingerie bridal shower or bachelorette party too!

The sweet Andrea of Dolce Drive created/styled this shoot and designed all the paper goods. Favorite DIY details include pink paper cones trimmed with black lace and mini bow-ties, striped straws dressed up with Valentine tags, and monochromatic clusters of Tootsie pops displayed in red pails adorned with white lace. And JUST when you think things can’t possibly get any cuter, Andrea’s adorable daughter makes a cameo at the end, complete with black ruffle dress and a giant red flower in her hair!

Real Parties: Curious Charley’s Monkey Party

Paper Lantern Adorn Arbor

I literally went BANANAS for this incredible little girls “Curious George Inspired” Monkey Birthday Party! Paige from Paiges of Style didn’t miss a beat with the vintage-modern celebration that she created for her daughter, Charley. From the use of the old saying “Keep Calm and Carry On” (which she changed to “Keep Calm and Go Bananas”), to the addition of the classic throwback kids game “barrel of monkeys”, to the modern pink and yellow color palette, this is a major upcycling of your traditional monkey theme birthday party!

Some of my favorite elements include the “outdoor living space” that was created, the hanging “Keep Calm and Go Bananas” frame over the dessert table, and the fabric flower cupcake toppers. Incredibly, Paige even threw this party together in just two weeks! Just goes to show that you don’t have to spend months planning to host an unforgettable party…

New Party Sneak Peeks + I’m Really Tired.

Happy Monday! I’m a little delirious today and am going to attempt to do this post in an overly tired mental state… so please bear with me! I had my 7th night in a row of only 3-4 of sleep last night… hence the title of this post and current luggage under the eyes. {Thank goodness I work from home!}

Anyways, it’s really been bothering me that I haven’t been able to post for you as often as I’ve planned to/wanted to lately – due to a seriously insane January. There are sooo many great real parties in the pipeline that I’m dying to share with you as soon as humanly possible {and I think I just found some help in that area!}. But I wanted to at least give you a little sneak peek of some of the stuff that’s been in the works over here lately, so you don’t think I’ve just been slacking off on posts to lay on the couch, eat bon-bons, and watch chick flicks all day. =)

First up is a peek at the new Oscars Party theme that Sonny & I shot late last night {above}. Lots more to come on this one when the full post goes live on Sunday. This new “Red Riding Hood” theme by the sweet & talented Bird from Bird’s Party is absolutely darling in every way! Lots of clever inspiration to be found here… from the the homemade cupcakes & ice cream cake garnished with edible “moss” to the adorable bright red chocolate toadstools, themed paper bunting, moss ball “trees”, mossy stones used as place card holders, and more! Check out all these fun pics…

Jasmine from The Couture Cakery is back with another fabulous sweets table! This time it’s a pink & green Lollipop-Inspired Dessert Table that was created for a young girl’s birthday party… but I’m pretty sure this table made guests of ALL ages very happy!

And speaking of happy, let’s talk about this fabulous floral arrangement too. I seriously just LOVE this…

In keeping with the theme, The JDK Group came up with this whimsical + clever “lollipop-inspired” design. “Wedding Hangover” Anniversary Party – Pt. 2

The Hangover Movie – Party Ideas

In continuing with Part 1 of our “Wedding Hangover Party” from yesterday, I’m just going to jump right into Part 2 here – because there’s lots to cover! This will recap the party decor and photo props (Part 1 featured the drinks/dessert table, accommodations, and overall concept). Here goes...

THE INSPIRATION for the party decor came from the hilarious scenarios and quotes from the movie itself, of course… but I wanted to be sure to incorporate the tiger, the chicken, Stu’s missing tooth, the hospital scene, and the casino/Vegas vibe in particular… and then of course tie in the anniversary/wedding element too!

The Hangover Movie – Party Ideas

The image above is shot from the “front door” of the suite’s lower level. The “lighted hearts” and hospital gown are props for guests to use in photos…more on those later!

The pepper shaker below (sitting on a Las Vegas Hotel Collage Coaster) references Alan’s “Tigers love pepper. They hate cinnamon.” quote from the scene when the guys are serving the “floorie steak” *wink* to the tiger.

The Hangover Movie – Party Ideas

I purchased stock photos of a tiger and a chicken from istockphoto.com, printed them out at various sizes, and attached them to wooden dowels. These were used throughout the centerpieces and stuck into vases filled with Skittles (which also tied into a movie quote). Here’s a picture of one of the bigger centerpieces: (more…)
