Sparkly “Baby Wears Prada” Baby Shower

Baby Wears Prada baby shower invitations

This beautiful and sparkly “BABY WEARS PRADA” themed baby shower by Dooby Design Group is guaranteed to please any couture-loving fashionista…or pint-sized fashionista-to-be!

Cuddly plush bears and lambs added a touch of sweetness to the gorgeous plum & magenta tablescapes, while blinged-out pacifiers, baby bottles, stuffed animal tees, and blocks introduced the perfect dose of glitz & glam. The envelopment on the letterpress invitation has to be one of my favorite details though – the invite was wrapped in a custom fabric “diaper” with contrast magenta stitching and a crystal-bedecked diaper pin… SO cute!

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Aisha

“Karen approached us about designing their baby shower and we went right to work creating concepts that reflected both the style and personality of the parents to be. Karen proposed the theme ‘Baby Wears Prada‘ and upon hearing that we ran with it! We wanted the Baby Wears Prada to exude the same high-end, couture, and stylish take on fashion that the brand represents without being ‘themey’. Having a close relationship with our clients and knowing their preferences made creating a design concept an easy task. While leaning towards a more modern color palette we selected a rich plum and magenta scheme with accents of silver and white for a polished clean look.

The invitation design was key as it was the first glimpse guests would receive of the style of the shower. We created a plum fabric diaper, with complimentary magenta stitching; once completed we adorned the diaper with a crystal diaper pin, added a letter pressed invitation and tucked it inside a custom wrapped box.

Karen requested that we use high-end finishes while also maintaining a baby shower-esque feel on the table design. Swarovski crystals were applied by hand to bottles, pacifiers and custom made t-shirts for the centerpieces. Plush stuffed animals in the shape of bears and lambs emerged in fragrant fuchsia garden roses, purple hydrangeas and orchids. The result was more than fantastic, it was Prada-perfect!”
