I’m excited to send a shout out and huge congrats to my friend & fellow blogger Marie LeBaron from the popular and super creative blog Make and Takes on the launch of her very first book: MAKE and TAKES for KIDS! I met Marie when we worked on the very first SocialLuxe Lounge party in Chicago at BlogHer 2009, and instantly fell in love with her crafty, family-oriented blog.
MAKE and TAKES for KIDS features 50 creative and approachable craft projects for kids for throughout the year – each centered around an upcoming holiday or season. One of my favorite aspects of the book is that each playful project requires little preparation, few supplies, and things that can be readily found around your house or at any craft supply store. There’s no need to spend tons of money on craft projects for kids, and it’s amazing what resourcefulness can do… for example check out the adorable little characters directly below (to the right), which are fashioned from egg cartons and googly eyes!

Here are a few more examples of the kinds of craft projects you’ll find in the book…from a turkey decked out with leaf rubbing feathers to beaded heart flowers:

Creative recipe ideas are also sprinkled throughout the book – including silly apple sandwiches, monster milkshakes and Father’s Day meatball golf balls!
For more details on MAKE and TAKES for KIDS, check out the full overview on Marie’s blog. It’s available at all major book stores and online at Barnes and Noble, Amazon, Walmart.com, Wiley.com.
