Cool & Modern Rock Star Baby Shower

Quick Jump To » Comments

What baby wouldn’t want to be welcomed in true rock star fashion?! This theme is perfect for Mom’s and new babies alike, and I’m loving the bright colors and bold patterns of this incredible Rock Star Baby Shower from Kim of The TomKat Studio and Vicki of Vicki Lynn Photography (who also hosted the baby shower). This duo continues to comes up with hit after hit!

I have a little experience throwing Rock Star parties myself and am always curious to see what creative ideas people come up with. Some of my favorite details include the use of old records as decorations, the paint bucket drum set, the colorful array of sugary sweets, and clothes line full of rock star baby gear. Can’t forget about the super cute sugar cookies and cake pops either…or all the cool and colorful paper products {available at The TomKat Studio}. I also love how each guest was asked to bring in their favorite book which was placed in an open guitar case appropriatly titled “Collection of Classics”.

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Kim. . .

“Earlier this year I designed the paper products for a Rock Star baby shower that my dear friend Vicki hosted for her sister-in-law, Jenna. Jenna knew she was having a boy and was decorating his room in a Rock Star theme. For her maternity photos, Jenna wore a Led Zeppelin shirt, which was perfectly fitting for this stylish mom.

I stopped by the night before with the goodies and ended up staying and helping setup with all of the girls preparing for the shower! I gave a few little impromptu TomKat lessons like how to frost cupcakes and use a circle cutter and then helped style the dessert table.

Vicki collected adorable props and delicious treats for the dessert table. I loved the clothesline with custom baby boy items she found on Etsy. Molly, the crafty one of the bunch bought a basic cake from the grocery store and added mini cake bunting using my free designs, along with skewers topped with mini guitars {so cute!}. We used old records topped with my printable 4″ circle designs to create a banner for the front of the table, as well as a banner spelling out the baby’s name.

Guests were asked to bring their favorite childhood book and Vicki set up a guitar case to collect the books for the baby’s “Collection of Classics”. As always, Vicki captured all of the details beautifully.

I’m happy to report that Jenna’s baby boy was born a couple of weeks ago!

How did you connect the albums for the name banner you hung above the TV? Doing this for DD 16th and would love to know how you did it. Thanks a bunch!

I love this theme! I’m doing a rockstar/music theme for my own baby shower.. it’s a little tougher for me though, since all these showers seem to be more towards boys. But I’m making it work! :)

      Hi Ericka!
I suggest swapping out the color palette and adding a bunch of fun rhinestones to give a girl oriented shower more of a “glam rockstar” look! Good luck and congrats on the little one! :)

Adorable ideas! Another cute idea for a party favor is a ROCKABET paperback picture book for each family attending. Saw cute idea at a friend’s shower!
