Wine Glass DIY #1: Butterfly Glass Charms

Wine Glass DIY #1: Butterfly Glass Charms

There 3 main reasons why mini artificial butterflies are – hands down – of my favorite ways to dress up wine glasses:

1.) It’s SUPER QUICK & EASY to attach them. (Just add Glue Dots!)
2.) They make glasses beautiful & striking with minimal effort.
3.) They double as drink markers when you use different colors.

The colorful 2-inch butterflies pictured here were used in our Wonderlandia party and are a fantastic choice for Alice in Wonderland inspired themes, but you can really use butterflies for all kinds of themes – ranging anywhere from summery garden parties to earthy autumn celebrations to silver & white winter wonderland themes. They’re available in all sorts of colors – from bright & bold to soft pastels to metallics and can be found at craft stores like Michaels or at online shops like at Floral Trims and Soaring Crafts.

To attach them securely to the wine glasses, simply place a Pop Up Glue Dot to the bottom of the butterfly…

…. then stick it to either the base of the glass or the bottom portion of the stem. If you choose to place the butterfly on the stem, just make sure it’s not too close to where your guest’s hand will grab/hold the glass.

Ta da! Just like that you have effortless, beautiful wine glasses ready to add some beauty to your place settings or drink station… and after the party is over, simply peel them off the glasses and save for use at future parties. Easy as pie!

P.S. Here’s another example of of “butterfly stemware” from the Festival Du Bebe baby shower I threw a while back. These feature even smaller 1″ butterflies and acrylic champagne flutes from Ikea. Want to see this entire party album? Click here. =)
