PARTY DETAILS, as told by Stefanie

“Many elements of the party came from inspiration that I found at HWTM, including the candy kabobs and DIY parasol wreath .  There were so many ideas from Macy’s Colorful Birthday Parade party that I used as inspiration for the Aloha Summer’s favor table and kids tables too!

Hibiscus flowers in the party’s color scheme were used throughout the party printables including cupcake toppers, dessert labels, kids table décor and party favors.

Inspired by Amy Atlas, the dessert table consisted of cupcakes with fondant toppers from Two Sugar Babies, Aloha themed cookies from Cookies Are My Canvas that had matching hibiscus flowers and lots of colors from the party’s theme. The centerpiece for the table was a cake adorned with eco-chic hand crafted hibiscus flowers by DK Designs.  My sweet hubby helped me to make a colorful layered cake.  His engineering skills came in handy!

A happy and colorful bed linen print with bright swirls of flowers and paisley from Pottery Barn Teen was used as the backdrop for the dessert table.   The dessert table was adorned with large paper flowers that were added to the backdrop.  I made a table skirt using raffia hula skirts and I added a garland in matching party colors using leis from Party City.

The birthday girls wore adorable custom rosette tanks created by Modern Frills and had matching flower hair accessories made by Looking 4 Lilly.  They were adorable hula girls!

The guests were greeted at the door and welcomed with leis and hula skirts.  Using inspiration from Kim at The Tomkat Studio’s Fairy Party tutu centerpiece, I made hair clips from a flower bouquet I purchased at a dollar store.  The flower clips were added to tree branches I found from our yard which made the perfect centerpiece for our family room.  Girls chose their favorite flower clip to go along with their aloha accessories.

Activities for the party consisted of coloring hibiscus flowers and beach themed coloring pages, a paper leis craft station, hula lessons and a tiki piñata.

Tutorials for the Tissue Wrapped Flower Favors and the Candy Kabobs can be found here and here.
