To say that we’re SWEET on this adorable “Kendall’s Kitchen” Cooking-Inspired Birthday Party designed by Kelly of Eventology Weddings would pretty much be an understatement!
From the chef’s hats and cooking themed activities – including pizza dough making and egg & spoon relays – to the candy coated popcorn cones, oven-mitt invitations, and of course the too-cute, pint-sized bakers themselves, this party just looks like an absolute blast for the little ones…

PARTY DETAILS, as told by Kelly…
“Since this is such a busy time of year with spring sports, Easter festivities, etc…I handed out quick & easy save-the-dates, made from business card & labels I purchased at PaperSource. I took baker’s twine and tied a miniature whisk to each card to get the kids in the cooking spirit.
A couple weeks later, the invitations went out. I fashioned the invite to look & read like a recipe card….and placed each inside an inexpensive red oven mitt (found at Kmart.com) to present to guests.
Since the party was located on the other side of town, I arranged for a trolley to transport the guests from our local area to the cooking school. This was a lot of fun for the kids, as trolleys aren’t something you find very often here in Texas.
Upon arrival, the guests located their embroidered apron & matching chef’s hat (made by a mom-friend who has an embroidery machine and runs a small business out of her home) and got ready for a guided lesson in pizza making. The kids had a fantastic time kneading their dough and fashioning their pizzas into shapes such as hearts, stars, smiley faces, etc.
Once in the oven, I occupied the kids with a couple of cooking related games. ‘Pass the Whisk’ (i.e. Hot Potato) was played along to Italian-related tunes such as ‘That’s Amore’ and ‘Mambo Italiano’. Then we played an egg & spoon relay (with boiled eggs of course), which concluded right as the pizzas were coming out of the oven. The kids feasted on their personal pizzas then treated themselves to goodies from ‘Kendall’s Kitchen‘.
The ‘Kendall’s Kitchen‘ dessert table featured ten different color-coordinated sweet treats including macarons, jelly beans, cooking-themed shortbread cookies (whisks, rolling pins & chef’s hats), chocolate covered oreos, red & blue soda (simply using Strawberry Crush and Frostie Cream Soda both purchased at my local grocery store, then affixing the custom labels), glazed popcorn (I used the template I found on HWTM for these!), cake pops, cotton candy, cupcakes, and an adorable 2 tiered cake serving the centerpiece in the center of the table. The guests relished in filling up their mini-gable boxes for a take-home treat.
All of the adorable tags, soda labels and the banner were made by Paiges of Style.
I purchased a large panel of coordinating fabric inexpensively on Fabrics.com to serve as the backdrop.
-The centerpieces were made from small red colanders I found at World Market and had a florist friend pop in a few white spider mums and red carnations. Then, we stuck in a few mini whisks for the finishing touch.
-The week before the party I ordered a small quantity of several coordinating fabrics and had a friend make a matching dress for my daughter to wear at the party. I used the remnants of leftover fabric to cover the base for the cake pops, cotton candy and popcorn cones!
-I commissioned a local elementary school art teacher to make me a wooden chef backdrop which served as a photo op for the kiddos to take a picture behind during the party. I am incorporating these pictures into each kid’s thank you note as a final memento of one fantastic party!”
