PARTY DETAILS….

“With the warmth and sweetness of the Mediterranean sun in mind, Cortnie & Vanessa wanted to create a table that exuded the scents and senses of the European countryside. A rustic, white wrought-iron table & chairs set served as the charming foundation for this sunny tablescape. The tables were draped with vintage yellow linens, and centerpieces consisted of iron baskets & vessels from Found Vintage Rentals, which were filled to the brim with fresh lemons, limes & lavender. Vintage finials were the perfect accent to the simple, chic arrangements by Renae’s Bouquet.

The menus were designed with illustrations of lemons and lavender printed in soft pastel shades, and each place setting was topped with tiny bundles of lavender. For a fun twist on the traditional place card cameo, oval-shaped tags were tied onto clusters of lemon and olive tree branches that hung on the back of each guest’s chair.

For a creative and refreshing signature drink idea, a “citrus bar” offered up icy Limoncello and garnishes of mint and raspberries. Want to bring a taste of Europe to your ‘festa del sol’? Make your own limoncello at home with a few simple steps by The Food Network!”

  1. My 10th anniversary is this November, and I was imagining an Italian inspired decor (mostly to go with the wood-fired oven I built in the backyard–whenever we entertain we always serve awesome pizza!), and if lemons were in season then, I’d be all over this design! Even so, there’s plenty of lovely inspiration to take from this.

  2. In love with this party, a real Tuscany style inspiration. Love the details Beautiful! Wish you a wonderful weekend Jenn!

What magnificent photos. Whoever took these is exceptionally talented.

I think part the wonder of “fresh lemons” is the live enzymes in fresh lemons.

I was wondering if anyone knows if it makes any difference whether I use Eureka lemons or Meyer lemons or Lisbon lemons? Any opinions on that? Where I live we don’t have easy access to fresh lemons but I can get them if I go online and Google “buy fresh lemons online.”

The nice thing about that is that if you order direct from the orchards, the growers pick them right off the trees and ship them direct — a tip I learned from my cousin in North Dakota. This way I get fresh lemons picked from the tree without all the time sitting in cartons, trucks and warehouses.
