Victorian Halloween Part 1 – Sweets Table

Victorian Halloween Part 1 Sweets Table

A-MAZING! That’s pretty much the best way to describe this fabulous Victorian Halloween Dessert Table created by the sugar-style gurus at Sweets Indeed.

In addition to the cool black lace backdrop, the individual crème brûlées served in chocolate cups, and the ridiculously gorgeous cake, one of my favorite things about this table is how stylish and adult-friendly it feels. (P.S. – The black lace backdrop is a great idea for lingerie-themed bridal showers & bachelorettes too!)

For this shoot, we wanted to create something that didn’t necessarily scream Halloween but had a subtle creepiness to it. We drew inspiration from the Victorian era and tapped into our inner haunted mansion.

After handcrafting our black lace backdrop and dessert stands, we decided on desserts for the more mature palette and made creme brulee in chocolate dishes, tiramisu, lavender ginger cookies, decorated lemon sugar cookies, monster-tini’s and an assortment of candy take away treats.

The two-tiered cake was made by Rebecca Lehman of Heavenscent Cakes and became a focal point for the Sweet Station. We loved the intricate detailing and the perfect color match!

We designed and created all of the paper goods as part of the overall look of this station. (Our custom dessert stations come with many of these unique items that we create specifically for the event.)

The Victorian Halloween themed favor boxes, mini treat cups, candy bar wrappers, and flavor tags were a lot of fun to make! Fabulous scrapbook paper, brads, and decorative items help complete the look…

We even adorned the center of our candy bar wrappers with a sticker from the Martha Stewart Halloween collection. The coffin candy cases are from her collection as well and can be found in-store at Michaels.

Beware, we caught a ghost sneaking treats in one of the photos! Can you spot him?

This is amazing! What are the black candy sticks? Where can I find a little birdcage like the one in the photo? I’ve been looking for one for awhile now. :)

LOVE this party! Although I have kids, I like to see party designs that aren’t cutesy. This one is amazing! The cake could also be great for an AlLice in Wonderland party – more the Tim Burton version than the Disney cartoon. The choc bar wrappers also came out great. Love all the details!

I wanted to pop in and answer a few questions. Thank you so much for all of your sweet words.

Maureen – The black, orange and white hard candies are a seasonal item that we acquired early on from one of our candy distributors. They sell out fast. We’ll be selling them on our website next Halloween.

Stacy – The black candy sticks are an Italian licorice called Piccolo’s. Haribo is one of the manufacturers and you can usually find them at candywarehouse.com. We found the birdcage at a local dollar store! ;-)

Sweet Regards,
Marie

This is a lovely, lovely display.

The creme brulee in chocolate cups look exactly like the frozen ones from Trader Joe’s–we buy them quite often (and they are delicious).
