Oh. My. Goodness. Why, yes… that IS a CURTAIN of colorful origami paper cranes that served as the dazzling backdrop for the wedding of this lucky bride & groom!
And as beautiful as all of these floating creatures look on their own, they seem even more amazing when you learn about the special meaning behind them… all throughout the time they were dating, Jon sent paper cranes to Laura with secret messages hidden inside. Pretty sweet!!

Even if you don’t have the means to fold 1300 paper cranes like Laura did along with the help of family, friends, and a classroom of 5th graders (extra gold stars for them!) – this is still a fabulous idea for parties on a smaller scale too… for example a “Love Birds” engagement party or bridal shower, or a festive holiday soirée.
I’m also loving how the paper cranes look sitting on top of the wheatgrass below… almost like a contemporary flower field!

And now for a close-up of the curtain… gorgeous!!

Totally cool! I wonder how they hung them …
Truly stunning. And the story behind the cranes is beautiful. Thank you for sharing this!
Cranes are also an appropriate symbolism used at weddings, because they mate for life.
I love how the bridesmaids dresses are all the same colour but different designs! Those cranes look A MA ZING!
love the cranes- how personal & beautiful!
I’m totally in love with this, so original, so perfect, with a meaning and touching. LOVED IT!
gorgeous. Paper cranes are cheap and extremely chic.
Stunning! Love the photos! Great color for the bridesmaids dresses!!
Wonderful pictures. Would you please tell me what size paper you used and where you purchased the paper?
Thanks,
Holly
Any tips on how to do the curtain? Was each strand hanged individually OR was it attached to a rod of some sort? HELP!
The paper cranes look amazing!
