You know how sometimes you can take one look at something and just instantly be inspired? That’s what happened with me and this fabulous Floating Ducks bath toy from Giggle. I absolutely adore the vibrant colors, the clean lines, the perfect blend of contemporary meets cute – but not cutesie. (Big difference!)
So….. this cool little bath toy became the jumping off point for a new “Modern Ducky Baby Shower” inspiration board. I’ve created a rubber duck theme before, but it’s been a while, so it was fun to come up with some new ideas. Here goes…

Floral Accents: Carnation Balls
I love the idea of utilizing round shapes for a rubber ducky theme to play up the “bubbles” idea, plus these carnation ball topiaries by pd Bloom are just plain cool! {The original image featured pink topiaries, so I digitally altered it to reflect the blue & yellow color palette here.}
Curious about those “twigs“? The carnation balls are actually being held up by white mitsumata branches, which are surprisingly lightweight and inexpensive.

Pictured above: Contemporary Bubbly Ducky Baby Shower Invitations and coordinating Personalized Napkin Rings (part of the Bubbly Ducky Party Collection designed by yours truly!), plus Spot Polka Dot beverage napkins in Yellow and Blue, and IZZE Soda in Clementine and Blueberry.
And the IZZE soda – or pretty much ANY drink – would be extra-cute sipped from one of these blue & white paper straws:

Treat guests to an all-yellow candy buffet that’s set up on a table draped in pretty blue linens…

…or give out cute ready-made bags of yellow candy embellished with custom favor tags:

My favorite thing about these particular candy bags? The handle portion of a yellow rock candy swizzle stick serves as the candy bag “handle” too. Genius!! {candy photos by Our Labor of Love}
Another fun DIY favor idea: individual bars of soap wrapped up in pretty fabric and ribbon…

In keeping with the theme, bottles of bubble bath & shower gel make great prizes for activities/games, especially when paired inexpensive bath sponges. (And at just $3 a pop the bath sponges would actually work well as guest favors too!)

P.S. When it comes to things like this, great packaging design is KEY! Some bottles are so pretty they can easily double as party decor before they’re given out. (Just embellish with decorative ribbon or hang a pacifier around the neck.) Pictured here are Dancing Waters Shower Gel and Lemon Vanilla Shower Gel, both from Bath & Bodyworks.

See what one little bath toy can inspire?! I could keep going, but it’s nearing 1am right now so I should probably try to squeeze in a few hours of shut eye before the LO wakes up. If you have additional ideas to share, please feel free!

I have found the most fabulous and affordable diaper cake website. http://www.babycakesdiaperbakery.com. The best!!
I love this theme! I love how modern and mature it is, but still fun and full of whimsy. I esp. love the carnation balls and pops of blue. Fabulous!!
We are throwing a rubber ducky shower for my sister in law & we love all your ideas! Can you please tell me where to get the soaps?
How many branches did you purchase for the three pots above?

I didn’t make those arrangements personally, but looking at them it doesn’t look like more than 1-2 mitsumata branches were used for each. Mitsumata is usually sold in a bundle too :)
