Esther Kim from My Bride Story Weddings & Events recently sent over pics from this fabulous “Summer Bicycle Inspired” wedding that she created… doesn’t it look like so much FUN?!
Along with the help of some talented vendors, Esther transformed the church courtyard where the wedding took place into a colorful, whimsical “playground” complete with GORGEOUS flower arrangements and playful bicycle and pinwheel accents.

There’s so much eye candy to be shared, so I decided to break the feature into 2 parts. Feast your eyes on the gorgeous flowers & decor here in Part 1… and then in Part 2 (coming later today), we’ll showcase the fabulous “Love is Sweet” Ice Cream Station by Kayla’s Kakes.
Read on for tons of AMAZING pics (by DonDavidStyle Photography} and all the fun details, as told by Esther…

“Young Ju & Yong Ho contacted me the moment they got engaged. They wanted to have a fun, outdoor, summer-inspired wedding. They also wanted to incorporate bicycles into the wedding because they had their first kiss at Redondo Pier while riding their bikes!
For the color scheme we decided to go with bright yellow, blush pink and lime green with a touch of light blue. We incorporated bicycles and different pinwheel elements here and there to create a casual, summer inspired wedding.

This wedding was really unique and one of a kind. Best of all, it definitely represented the couple’s bubbly and outgoing personality!
Before I start explaining the different details, I first have to give a big shout out to Courtney of Joyful Weddings & Events, as this wedding was originally inspired by the gorgeous Anthropologie Picnic Vintage Bicycle photoshoot that she did a while back.

We had 2 different kinds of tables for the reception. Rectangular tables featured custom-made yellow and white checkered runners and bright yellow napkins, and round tables were dressed up with lime-green linens that contrasted nicely with the pink and yellow centerpieces.

Kristine Shin – the floral designer – was my fairy Godmother for the night! She executed all of our ideas perfectly – I LOVE collaborating with her for weddings.

We were so lucky to have coral peonies incorporated into the arrangements, as they’re gorgeous and will be out of season very soon!

For the head table, Kristine hung flower balls from color-coordinating satin ribbons…

Now to the stationery… Posh Paperie did such an awesome job creating all the paper goods! From menu cards and wish tags to signage for the ice cream station (more on this in Part 2), they were spot on and we couldn’t have been happier with the end results!

I think I’m going to trademark this genius idea that came to me during our consultation: We displayed a yellow bicycle decorated with sunflowers and pinwheels at the reception, and the guests wrote wishes on the wish tags then tied them on the bicycle. The signage said: “Built for Two: Please write your wishes for the couple’s ride through their journey of life together.”

The couple had originally planned to ride in on the bike for their grand entrance, but it ended up not being possible because of the length of the bride’s dress. It would have been perfect for the entrance though, no? =)
Our staff blew up more than 100 balloons that were handed out to each guest. The guests were asked to let go of the balloons just in time for the couple’s grand entrance. You should have seen the expressions on people’s faces… we all felt like we were being kids again!
I hope that this event will help inspire others to get creative and bring your vision & concept to life no matter WHERE you’re getting married!”

Wow, this looks like such a fun wedding!!!
I love the flowers on the table arrangement…Flowers arranged very attractively
I must have those flower balls? Any idea where to purchase them? Sooooooooo cute!
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments about this wedding. The flower balls were purchased at Moskatel’s in Downtown LA but I believe you can also buy them online at CB2 http://www.cb2.com/ Hope this helps!
I may have to renew my vows…hmmmm! :o)
I was actually thinking about doing the balloon release for my wedding in 10 days, however, I am a little hesitant about doing that. Is that considered littering? Do I need to get permission from the city?
Gorgeous flowers! The bright colors evoke a sense of happiness which are perfect for any wedding :)
