Although stationery is the primary influence for many of my posts, the trends that I see in runways, in shops and on the streets play a big part in inspiring many of my posts – especially Tuesday Trends. It’s no secret that the patterns and colors we see on the catwalk eventually find their way into textiles, home goods and, yes, even stationery. So how can the designs of Marc Jacobs, Monique Lhuillier or Dolce & Gabbana enliven and inspire your event?
1. Play with Pattern
Whether it’s festive florals, folk patterns or sweet and simple stripes, let patterns and motifs be your guide.

2. Play with Color
Twice a year Pantone releases their fashion color report which serves as a guide for designers and party planners alike. In addition to highlighting the hottest hues, these reports illustrate how designers combine popular colors with secondary and tertiary shades to give their looks more dimension. Consider borrowing a page from their sketchbooks and pair rose with grey, fuchsia with blue or citron and salmon.
