Lenox Simply Fine Living The last (and only!) time that I picked out China was while creating our wedding registry at the ripe old age of 22. Aside from the not-so-surprising fact that my taste has changed since then, I have to admit that the wedding registry china has barely seen the light of day since the wedding-motif gift wrap came off. While I love the idea of "living every day to the fullest" and not saving your good stuff for only "special" or rare occasions, our original pattern just seems way too fancy and impractical for our casual get-togethers.

That’s why I instantly fell in love with the new simplyFine china collections from Lenox . Contemporary, stylish patterns that are way more versatile than formal china because they can translate from everyday dinner parties to formal occasions. I just got the Chirp pattern {pictured above} and LOVE it!

In addition to the cool, artistic design and bold splashes of teal that seriously brighten up the table – the quality is great and it comes with a chip-free replacement guarantee …hooray!

Tip: If you can’t afford to buy 8-12 sets of china all at once or have more guests than you do place settings, you can make fewer sets stretch further by mixing your china with simple everyday dishware. Alternate one place setting composed of a formal dinner plate and everyday accent plate with a second combo featuring an everyday dinner plate and formal accent plate. This way your china pattern will still be featured throughout the entire table, and your bank account might still be healthy enough to afford the actual meal!

That Chirp pattern is fabulous. I love it! I know what you mean about the fancy wedding china; my dressy pattern has only been used a handful of times in over five years. I just don’t like all the handwashing! I already handwash my crystal…don’t want to do the plates too.

I love the idea of mixing china with everyday plates. Never thought of that before but it might actually work – thanks!

I’ve wanted to spice up my simple china pattern (white with silver trim) with something fun. I think that I might go for the Chirp Salad plates! I might also have to get the mugs. Morning coffee would be so HAPPY!

I actually do use my china every day. Mainly because I don’t believe in keeping things only for special occasions and also because I’m not so in love with the pattern that I’d die if a piece broke. But these patterns are really special and worthy of collecting.
