great bowls o’ fire

I saw this beach burner portable bonfire by artist John T. Tunger featured on ThisNext yesterday and thought it would make such a fantastic attraction for any beach party or luau… The cut steel flames even act as great cooking rests for sausages or marshmallows!

Beach BurnerAside from the beautiful design aspect, Tunger’s entire collection of fire line art bowls are made of 100% recycled content, provide safer fires on windy evenings, and can be converted (for an extra cost) to clean-burning propane or natural gas. Available for purchase in the John T. Tunger etsy shop.

INK&WIT

INK&WITAs a long-time admirer of Tara Hogan‘s fabulous INK&WIT line – I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to blog about it here! It shouldn’t take many words to convey how extraordinary Tara’s work is though – these pictures alone should be a great testament to both her design talents, and the playful, yet elegant style you’re sure to find in her postcards, mini notes, art prints, and more.

INK&WITpictured above: Eco Elephants postcards (super cute! These would be great to incorporate into baby shower or kids’ birthday party decor.) / and below: Thanks for being so dear postcards (so clever – and a great hostess gift idea!) – both $14/set of 10 cards

upcoming giveaways!

Hi Everyone –
Apologies for the delay in posting today and the late-in-the-day posts last week – I’ve been traveling every single day since last Tuesday and am JUST getting back after the final (thank goodness!) 8 hours in the car. How is it that sitting for 8 hours straight can make you tired? Somehow that seems to be the case. The 4am wake-up-call probably didn’t help either :0

Anyways, I’m planning to make it up to you this week with more posts than usual – and a bunch of GREAT giveaways starting this week and continuing throughout the next few weeks, so hope you’re feeling lucky ;) Speaking of giveaways, today is the final day to enter the Mod Summer Giveaway over at Life in a Venti Cup, which features a bunch of cool stationery by Pulp Factory, so be sure to throw your name in today if you want to enter!

Cheers,
Jenn

glassware favorites from c&b

Thought I’d share some glassware favorites from Crate&Barrel with you today. Clear dishes and serveware are so useful to have around because they coordinate with pretty much any color palette or tabletop design – and I love how C&B often adds interest even to clear glassware with textures and subtle etching…

Bogdan Company

BodanCoI’m loving these ultra-modern Star Beverage Coasters ($25/set of 4) and Toothy Frog Bottle Openers ($6.50 ea) from innovative product designer Mario Bogdan… The coasters come in 7 color combinations and the bottle opener also doubles as a coaster after you’ve opened your drink – and sticks to the fridge when not in use. "canned" cocktails

Stawberry Pear DaquiriWhen I received an email a few weeks ago with the subject line “Easy, Delicious Cocktails from… Canned Foods?” I have to admit I was slightly skeptical about the idea. But once I actually read the recipes – which utilize long-lasting staples you might already have in your pantry such as canned peaches, pears and fruit cocktail – I realized that this idea was actually pretty smart. And these gorgeous photos don’t hurt either ;) Scroll down for direct links to each of the recipes pictured here…

sunny celebration

Style Me Pretty recently posted a beautiful yellow wedding inspiration board that reminded me of a fun & bright yellow daisy shower from marthastewart.com. This sunny theme would work beautifully for a baby shower, bridal shower, or even an anytime brunch or birthday celebration. The first image below shows some pictures from the daisy shower – and the 2nd shows some product finds that I think would compliment this theme well….

REAL PARTIES: Hot Pink Baby Shower

My friend Anasuya recently threw a super cute – and very hip – baby shower for a friend at a restaurant in LA. My favorite thing about this shower is the use of hot pink as the key color – a fresh take on the traditional baby pink palette.
