I would love these!

My tip is from Idealbite.com also. It is to use cold water to wash your clothes. According to them, the benefits are as follows:
* Save major energy. 80%-90% of the energy used to do laundry goes to heating the water.
* Save cold, hard cash – $61 per year per household on average by forgoing the hot for the cold.
* Cleaner air (not just clothes). In a year, each household that switches keeps 1,281 lbs of CO2 from entering the air.
* Hotter colors with cold. Cold water keeps your clothes looking newer longer than hot water washing.

Eggs. They look like delicate egg shells, used in the homes of royalty, where there’s staff enough to create such delicacies. I’d fill one with spinach feta dip, another with pita crisps, another with Parmesan chips.

Alternatively, you can fill them with office supplies and put them on your desk. How mod.

OR, fill each “egg” with crafts for a children’s play day. Marbles, curled pipe cleaners, jax, pom poms. Great for projects and keeping busy.

that is gorgeous!

there are so many green tips to give, and so many great ones here already!

here’s one i’m trying to commit fully to: stop using disposable bags and other items, and cut down on as much packaging as possible.

there’s debate as to whether paper is in fact better than plastic (due to carbon output, etc), but cotton is better than both. when i do my grocery shopping, i take along canvas bags to carry my wares home in. i also take my own bag with me when i go shopping, so i don’t have a thousand bags to cart around with me every time i buy a new shirt. i get lots of positive comments when i do this.

another thing you can do, which is a bit mor eco-geeky, is take your own tupperware or reusable containers for take-out food.

i also carry my own cloth napkin with me to use at work or elsewhere. that always gets people talking – particularly when it’s a bright color.

and i think that’s probably the best green tip of all – just to have conversations and get people talking about the topic. just like our fabulous hostess has done…

I used to have a lazy susan and totally miss it! This one is just perfect for spring; the organic shape reminds me of a nest with eggs. It would be so cute and homey in our little love nest!

Thanks HWTM for highlighting environmentally friendly products. I am also a fan of bambuhome.com, they make cool innovative products from renewable materials.
