SURPRISE GIVEAWAY: Zanisa

Earth Day is this Sunday, April 22…so it seems fitting to celebrate with a Surprise Giveaway from Zanisa – a fantastic company that strives to be a friend to the environment year-round. Click here to read about Zanisa’s environmental efforts – one of the highlights being that they will plant a tree for every order over $50 with the help of americanforests.org!

Today at HWTM, Zanisa is offering up this very cool & ultra-useful Lazy Susan Server, which comes with 5 organically shaped white porcelain bowls that fit into grooves on a renewable Acacia wood tray that spins for your guests…making entertaining all the easier…and all the more stylish! I don’t know about you – but personally, I really want this! If you do too, just make a comment on this post – it can be ANY comment – or you can say something about the environment if you have a “green” tip or story to share…up to you. Giveaway ends Sunday, April 22nd at midnight PST. Good luck!

I don’t own a lazy susan, but this one makes me think I definitely need one. Those bowls are precious!

My Green Tip: If you’re not using it, unplug it! I used to keep my cell phone charger plugged-in at all times, but then I read it still uses electricity even if you are not charging your phone. So now it stays unplugged until I absolutely need to charge. Green and simple at the same time!

that’s a great tip, Doug! I just reached back and unplugged my cell phone charger – so your green tip is being put to use already! :)

That’s the prettiest lazy susan I’ve ever seen! And the bowls are darling.

A “green tip” resource out there — I recently subscribed to the daily tips at Ideal Bite — they email you a green/eco tip every day with product suggestions and some historical background.

What a beautiful set — an old fashioned idea with a retro spin. I love that this could be used to bring everyone together in one spot. The price on this lazy susan makes this an affordable yet elegant gift. I also love the fact that a tree is planted for every $50 spent. I am from New Orleans and we have lost thousands of trees because of the hurricane. This is definetely money well spent!

My easy green tip:

Make sure your car tires are properly inflated!

“Tires have a bigger impact on the environment than you might think. Did you know 50 to 80 percent of tires are underinflated? Underinflated tires waste up to five percent of a car’s fuel. How much fuel would we save if we properly inflated our tires? Up to two billion gallons a year!”

just beautiful!! i love the wood with the white bowls.

my green tip is an extension of doug’s, almost everything that is plugged in but off still uses energy (TV, computer, coffee maker), plug them into power strips and turn the power strips off when you aren’t using them! (this is easier than unplugging everything)

I really like this. When we were growing up, my mom always used to say she needed a really LARGE lazy susan for nights when we had ordered Chinese take-out because there were five of us and we were all grabbing for different items. 20 years later she still doesn’t have one, so even though this is a small one, I would give it to her! She would love it for old times’ sake plus it’s really beautiful.
