That his a great snack server!1 With 4 children they all want different snacks. This would be great for the kitchen table after school. I could have a ton of healthy snacks!!

  2. Doug says:

I don’t own a lazy susan, but this one makes me think I definitely need one. Those bowls are precious!

My Green Tip: If you’re not using it, unplug it! I used to keep my cell phone charger plugged-in at all times, but then I read it still uses electricity even if you are not charging your phone. So now it stays unplugged until I absolutely need to charge. Green and simple at the same time!

  3. hiphostess says:

that’s a great tip, Doug! I just reached back and unplugged my cell phone charger – so your green tip is being put to use already! :)

  4. Grethel says:

What a perfect server for our weekly game night we have with our friends!

  5. Kate says:

I like the way it kind of looks natural/organic as well as promoting that kind of idea. It’s really lovely!

  6. sarah cool says:

I switched all of my light bulbs to CRL (compact flourescent lights)
! :-) Saves on energy costs AND frequency of purchasing light bulbs.

Loving the white porcelain against the organic wood.

My energy tip of the day: Resist temptation to open the frig for no reason.

  8. Courtney says:

Love all the green tips – and I really LOVE this gorgeous lazy susan.

  9. Funky Finds says:

this is so cool! what a great company, too.

  10. masami says:

That’s the prettiest lazy susan I’ve ever seen! And the bowls are darling.

A “green tip” resource out there — I recently subscribed to the daily tips at Ideal Bite — they email you a green/eco tip every day with product suggestions and some historical background.

  12. ikkinlala says:

    That’s such a pretty set!

  13. michelle says:

oh, I love it! I love the curves in the bowls.

  14. Christie says:

What a beautiful set — an old fashioned idea with a retro spin. I love that this could be used to bring everyone together in one spot. The price on this lazy susan makes this an affordable yet elegant gift. I also love the fact that a tree is planted for every $50 spent. I am from New Orleans and we have lost thousands of trees because of the hurricane. This is definetely money well spent!

  15. Laura says:

Beautiful! I love lazy Susans, and this one is gorgeous!

  16. JMG says:

    I love it!

    My easy green tip:

Make sure your car tires are properly inflated!

“Tires have a bigger impact on the environment than you might think. Did you know 50 to 80 percent of tires are underinflated? Underinflated tires waste up to five percent of a car’s fuel. How much fuel would we save if we properly inflated our tires? Up to two billion gallons a year!”

  18. Sara says:

just beautiful!! i love the wood with the white bowls.

my green tip is an extension of doug’s, almost everything that is plugged in but off still uses energy (TV, computer, coffee maker), plug them into power strips and turn the power strips off when you aren’t using them! (this is easier than unplugging everything)

  19. Laura says:

I really like this. When we were growing up, my mom always used to say she needed a really LARGE lazy susan for nights when we had ordered Chinese take-out because there were five of us and we were all grabbing for different items. 20 years later she still doesn’t have one, so even though this is a small one, I would give it to her! She would love it for old times’ sake plus it’s really beautiful.

  20. Meena says:

Ohh, this is absolutely wonderful! I love Zanisa products. Their designs are so chic and clasy, and this lazy susan is perfect for those evenings when I meet with my girlfriends for gossip and munchies! I can already tell it’ll be the conversation starter! :)

  21. Jennifer says:

i love everyone’s tips!! my biggest tip is just try to conserve your water use and turn out the lights/unplug what you can when you are not using them! :)

i cannot even say how much I am in love with that lazy susan! *crossing fingers*

    .♥.

too cute! we try to recycle as much as we can in our house. hopefully we’ll be able to build a green house someday soon!

  24. Nancy Jean says:

It would be perfect for the family reunion picnic we are hosting at our house–we are just trying to find enough space to serve everything!

  25. CPA_Mom says:

Perfect – beautiful and good for the environment too!

  26. Joyce T. says:

i can’t wait to entertain with those!

    my green tip: http://www.greendimes.com

for a dime a day, they will stop any unwanted postal junk mail so that you receive only the catalogs that you want. and a tree will be planted for you every month! makes a great present for green-minded people as well.

  27. liz says:

I love this set! It would be perfect for my new apartment’s housewarming party!

  28. Stine says:

Beautiful lazy susan! It would be perfect for parties.

My green tip: Lower your thermostat down to 64. It actually isn’t really that cold once you get accustomed to it. And if you get a little chilly, it is just a good excuse to snuggle up with someone! Plus it saves a ton of money!

  29. stephanie says:

Eggs. They look like delicate egg shells, used in the homes of royalty, where there’s staff enough to create such delicacies. I’d fill one with spinach feta dip, another with pita crisps, another with Parmesan chips.

Alternatively, you can fill them with office supplies and put them on your desk. How mod.

OR, fill each “egg” with crafts for a children’s play day. Marbles, curled pipe cleaners, jax, pom poms. Great for projects and keeping busy.

  30. Jeanette says:

    I would love these!

My tip is from Idealbite.com also. It is to use cold water to wash your clothes. According to them, the benefits are as follows:
    * Save major energy. 80%-90% of the energy used to do laundry goes to heating the water.
    * Save cold, hard cash – $61 per year per household on average by forgoing the hot for the cold.
    * Cleaner air (not just clothes). In a year, each household that switches keeps 1,281 lbs of CO2 from entering the air.
    * Hotter colors with cold. Cold water keeps your clothes looking newer longer than hot water washing.

Oh, I adore Zanisa! They’re one of my favorite green goods stores. That lazy susan is very cute.

  33. Kristen says:

love it – the bowls are so great.

my green tip: we use “seventh generation” chlorine-free diapers

  34. Tami H says:

What a gorgeous piece…I immediately thought *desk organizer*…one of the cups could still hold food…I’m thinkin’ chocolate.

  35. kate says:

    that is gorgeous!

there are so many green tips to give, and so many great ones here already!

here’s one i’m trying to commit fully to: stop using disposable bags and other items, and cut down on as much packaging as possible.

there’s debate as to whether paper is in fact better than plastic (due to carbon output, etc), but cotton is better than both. when i do my grocery shopping, i take along canvas bags to carry my wares home in. i also take my own bag with me when i go shopping, so i don’t have a thousand bags to cart around with me every time i buy a new shirt. i get lots of positive comments when i do this.

another thing you can do, which is a bit mor eco-geeky, is take your own tupperware or reusable containers for take-out food.

i also carry my own cloth napkin with me to use at work or elsewhere. that always gets people talking – particularly when it’s a bright color.

and i think that’s probably the best green tip of all – just to have conversations and get people talking about the topic. just like our fabulous hostess has done…

OMG I love it! I’ve been looking for a server ever since I saw one that I fell in love with on my FSIL’s registry. This one definitely beats it!
